Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

I love traditional Christmas decorations; here the classic bauble has been given a hand crafted twist.

Full description
The basis of this lovely bauble is a print of one of my original designs; simple black lines hand-stitched onto natural unbleached calico have been carefully reproduced onto a beautiful neutral coloured linen fabric by the team at Woven Monkey.
Hand embellishment with a bright array of sequins in gold, purple, orange and red adds a burst of colour and sparkle to the front of the bauble, with the reverse a warm buttery wool felt.
Front and reverse sides are hand-stitched together with a cream thread, lightly filled with a synthetic toy stuffing and a yellow hanging ribbon tied to the top.
The main body of the bauble measures approx. 9cm in diameter.
This pretty bauble would make a beautiful hand-crafted addition to any festive tree!
