I'm a big fan of both abstract art and also the seaside, so this subject just seems to work for me! Although not strictly abstract, I treat these forms as experiments in composition and colour and have fun with them.

This is a hand-pressed linocut print entitled 'Small Stone Study No.1' printed in light yellow/grey, mid grey, teal and plum.
This print is one of a series of images I have created based on stones I had found on the UK coast (mostly around North Wales, Cornwall ans the Yorkshire coast). I was interested in the natural textures and patterns and wanted to play with the images and inherent colours.
Light yellow/grey, mid grey, teal and plum water-based block-printing inks on off-white Daler-Rowney 220gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of only 10, signed and numbered. Reduction linocuts are created from one piece of lino, cutting, printing, then cutting more, and so on, so the edition size is usually very small, and it can never be reprinted by hand.
The print image measures H8.4xW7.5cm.
The paper measures H21xW14.85cm
All prints will be posted flat in a cellophane sleeve and protective packaging.
