Hey, thanks for stopping by!
I'm Ellen and I hand craft silver jewellery from my garden studio on the West Sussex coast.
Influenced by ancient cultures, geology, inspiring quotes and travel adventures! My work features lots of metal marking such as hand stamping, hammering and fusing all using 100% recycled sterling silver and natural gemstones.
ORDERING INFO: All jewellery comes presented in my branded white boxes and is posted via Royal Mail in letterbox sized boxes (apart from rings - these boxes are just too deep!). If your jewellery is being made to order the item listing will give you a timeframe and my working days are Monday - Friday.
POSTAL INFO: Most items will get posted out from the studio within 48 hours unless otherwise stated. You can choose your preferred method at the checkout.
It was said that Maidens of the sea had the power to change the course of nature and control the waves but that Neptune forbid them to do so.
In the days of intrepid journeys across the oceans in elegant sailing boats, one such sea maiden had been swimming alongside the same schooner for many years and had fallen in love with the captain from a distance.
On one occassion, a mighty storm threatened the safety of the captain and the mermaid could take no more. She instantly calmed the seas in order to save him.
For her impetious actions, Neptune banished the sobbing mermaid to the depths of the ocean, never to surface or swim alongide ships again. Her tears continue to wash up on the shorelines as gleaming, crystalline treasures in the colours of the sea. An eternal reminder of true love and sacrifice.

This beautiful nugget of sea glass has been set into sterling silver using traditional stone setting techniques in which the edges of the silver have been carefully pushed over the smooth, glass pebble.
I collected these glass nuggets on the beaches at Seaham, Co Durham which is World renowned for its sea glass due to the Victorian bottleworks that were located along the coastline. Tonnes of reject glass bottles and 'end of day' large blobs of unusable glass were discarded with an awful lot ending up in the sea. The result, around a hundred years later, are these wave tumbled glass pebbles.
The pendant has three small recycled pebbles soldered below the glass and the reverse has a hammered texture applied to complete the beachy feel.
It comes complete with this unusual sterling silver twisted rope chain that closes with a bolt ring clasp.
Chain length is 18 inches (46cm).
The pendant is approx 1.9 x 1cm.
The necklace will come presented in a branded white gift box and posted in a thin, card box that will fit through most standard letterboxes. Due to its unique nature it will post via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
As you will probably realise, this necklace is a one-of-a-kind! But I do have more sea glass jewellery in my store along with a stash of pebbles in the studio - feel free to contact me should you wish to have something custom made!
