This is one of my bestselling Cupid's Arrow Pendants. The legend says that the Roman God Cupid, the son of Venus the goddess of love, would carelessly throw magical darts at mortals, and whoever was pierced through the heart would fall hopelessly in love with the next person they saw. A heart pierced with an arrow became the universal symbol of true love.
About Murano Glass Beads
Glass beads have been made on the island of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon since the 13th Century when glassmaking was moved there to prevent fires breaking out in the city. Many of the techniques used by the artists who make the glass are closely guarded secrets, and it helped to be located on an island where few people were allowed to visit. Nowadays the glass making process is still done by hand and Murano glass is recognised as the finest of its kind in the world. No two Murano beads are alike and many are lined in fine silver or 24 Karat gold to enhance their beauty.

This Cupid's Dart Pendant has a large palest pink Murano heart, lined with a shimmering fine silver core. The heart itself measures 20 mm long and is genuine Murano glass from Venice itself. The bead gives the appearance of shot silk and shimmers with life in the light. I have mounted this stunning work of art by crafting a sterling silver arrow entirely by a hand forging process of heating and hammering the metal, then carving out the details by hand such as the fletchings at the top of the shaft. I have stamped the arrow with the .925 mark as my warranty that it is genuine sterling silver. This makes each arrow unique and totally one of a kind. At 50 mm 2" long and mounted on a 450 mm 17 3/4" sterling silver chain, this pendant would make a beautiful gift which is sure to be appreciated and treasured for years to come.
It comes packaged carefully in a black gift box, fastened with a satin bow.
