I was thinking about the odd weather we get in summer where one minute the sun is shining and the sky cornflower blue.
Suddenly a cloud appears, drops its enormous raindrops onto the lawn where they bounce as hailstones tand then the sun comes out again leaving a glorious rainbow.
So I designed this. Hope you like it.

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
One of my very own designs and I think it is quite stunning and very special.
An alternative name for this piece is "English Summer Weather". Sunshine and Blue sky plus rain equals a rainbow.
It is a striking 'picture' of a rainbow fanning up from a bright yellow sun. Above the rainbow is blue sky, beneath, the green grass which grows so fast in weather like this and at one sides, clear raindrop glass and at the other a frosty glass. A very typical English summer's day weather. .
The ring is framed with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
The rainbow has all the colours of the spectrum made from 7 different colours and textures of glass.
This is beautifully bright and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 16 cm in diameter and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
