This is a 10cm square painting of the cover of Fairport Convention's Unhalfbricking. It's acrylic on paper and was part of a series called Tiny Paintings for Long Rooms as it's intended to be viewed from a distance. It does of course, still look very nice close-up but really comes into its own when seen from the other end of a room, or glanced from the corner of one's eye.
It will be signed on the back and is unframed.
Part of a series of small paintings, this is an experiment to see how little information one needs in order to still be able to recognise the subject. I've always loved it when a piece of art is something without quite being the full thing. When one can squint at something and suddenly it all comes into focus, or glancing something from the corner of one's eye and seeing the whole thing more clearly then when looking directly.
And of course, it's a classic album and I always love painting classic albums, right?
