These realistic copper leaves are made from copper sheet, then I roll the copper with a skeleton leaf which gives an imprint of the leaf into the copper.

This I then oxidise.

The process of careful hand sanding using increasingly fine sand paper leads to the beautiful copper finish with the black imprint of the leaf veins.

The ear hooks are solid silver to avoid irritation to the ear. I varnish the back of the earring to reduce likelihood of the green skin problem and use renaissance wax on the front to slow up the tarnishing process.

Keeping them stored in an airtight box when not wearing them will also reduce tarnishing
