Full description
This is a small sized literary bonsai tree, handcrafted using real book pages from the classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
It is small enough to sit on a bookshelf or wall shelf, measuring approximately 6 inches tall and about 5.5inches wide. It is set on a real wood slice, measuring approximately 1cm high and 9cm diameter.(Which is included in the overall measurements)
My literary bonsai trees are all made with a papier-mache base, over which I add lines from the books and decorate with leaves, flowers and other trimmings to suit.
This literary bonsai tree has been decorated with little red mulberry style paper roses.
The trunk is angled and the branches are decorated with tiny individually hand cut leaves, also cut from Alice in Wonderland.
It has been finished with a paper sealant and two coats of acrylic varnish, which will help prevent fading and also stiffens the leaves so that the will not rip or tear with normal handling. My trees end up being far more sturdy than one may initially imagine due to the many layers of sealants used. Although the wire can be moved on this tree, it does hold it's shape.
