The design for this necklace was inspired by my own love of lariat necklaces. I find fidgeting with the beads on the end of the cords very satisfying ;-) The design is simple but elegant, to allow the pattern and colours of the polymer clay to stand out.
I created this colour palette in early spring, as the flower bed under my crab apple tree came to life with orange poppies, lavender bluebells and golden hellebores. Heavenly!

Full description
A sparkling blend of glitter gold, lavender, orange and green polymer clay give this handcrafted, polymer clay, lariat necklace a fresh, spring character. The brown waxed cotton cord threads through a circular torus, which hangs from a circular disc. Both pieces are backed with a layer of gold-glitter polymer clay. The ends of the cord are finished with spherical beads. Sliding knots in the cotton cord allow you to adjust the length of the necklace.
You will always have a spring in your step when you wear this necklace. Team it up with a bright outfit, pop on a straw hat and sandals, and head down to the park for a picnic lunch.
Dimensions:
The necklace is threaded on 2.5 m of brown waxed cotton cord.
At full extension (i.e. with the knots tightened to the disc), the threads hang about 71 cm from the shoulder.
At shortest extension (i.e with the knots meeting), the threads hang about 51 cm from the shoulder.
All the clay pieces of this necklace have been cut from my own handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the pieces have been constructed and fired, they are sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.
The necklace will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza bag, ready to gift or keep for yourself!
