The design for this necklace was inspired by my own love of lariat necklaces. I find fidgeting with the beads on the end of the cords very satisfying ;-) The design is simple but elegant, to allow the pattern and colours of the polymer clay to stand out.
The way the polymer clay canes have merged in this glittery red, orange and hot-pink mix reminds me of paisley, a pattern I love for it’s bold mixing of colour and design.

Full description
This handcrafted lariat necklace oozes summer vibes with its vivid blend of reds, orange and hot pink polymer clay. The brown waxed cotton cord threads through a circular torus, which hangs from a circular disc. Both pieces are backed with a layer of glitter-red polymer clay. The ends of the cord are finished with spherical beads. Sliding knots in the cotton cord allow you to adjust the length of the necklace.
The striking colour palette will jazz up any summer outfit, and add a spark of sunshine on dreary days.
Dimensions:
The necklace is threaded on 2.5 m of brown waxed cotton cord.
At full extension (i.e. with the knots tightened to the disc), the threads hang about 71 cm from the shoulder.
At shortest extension (i.e with the knots meeting), the threads hang about 55 cm from the shoulder.
All the clay pieces of this necklace have been cut from my own handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the pieces have been constructed and fired, they are sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.
The necklace will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza bag, ready to gift or keep for yourself!
