These hedgehogs started life as laser cut plywood blanks. They are hand painted and finished with a coat of clear satin varnish to give them a gentle sheen. Each one is then given his own patch of grass starred with tiny flowers, all hand cut from foam sheet. If you look carefully you might even find the occasional butterfly hovering around the flowers.

The hedgehogs are hung on 'invisible' nylon threads from wire yokes so that they drift slowly around each other. They will be a cute talking point in your room, and will enhance any otherwise empty corner, but beware! You can waste a lot of time just watching them and relaxing!

Approximate Dimensions:
The hedgehogs are 10cm long and 5.5cm high
The mobile is 45cm long and 45cm wide

Someone who liked my mobiles asked if I could make one with hedgehogs as they had a friend who loved them and it would make a good gift. I made them from foam sheet originally, and they were very cute.

More recently I was asked if they could be hung on a sheltered balcony. That was not possible as they are so light. I was able to source some lovely plywood blanks from Bailey Wood, and with them was able to make a heavier mobile which might just cope with being outside in a sheltered spot in good weather.

I'm waiting with bated breath to hear if the hedgehogs have survived the great outdoors. These are definitely designed for an indoor life!
