Fabric swatch books have some beautiful fabrics in them, but the useable pieces are sometimes quite small. I love the challenge of making little things and using up as many scraps as possible along the way. And who doesn't love fluffy little bees!

This sweet little beehive brooch is made from upcycled linen and scraps.
A dinky little beehive is hand embroidered over an applique base onto a beautiful aquamarine linen and has 5 hand embroidered teeny tiny bees buzzing around.
It makes a great brooch but would look equally as good on a bag or hat.
It measures 4.5 cm across, 5 cm tall and is lightly padded with recycled curtain interlining and repurposed mount board. It is then handstitched onto a recycled felt circle with a silver coloured brooch pin.
Please note: All my brooches are handmade using upcycled fabrics and hand embroidery so they will all be slightly different.
