As with the majority of my tensegrity sculptures. It all starts with going through my supply of driftwood to see what shapes work well with each other, and that will give me an overall shape that will balance correctly.
This is probably the most time consuming single part of the build, as I try to keep the wood as natural as possible and will only cut and shape the driftwood if its absolutely necessary.
Once built, then comes the tricky part. I need to see how the sculpture will balance and work out where the guide lines need to be placed to give it its gravity defying appearance
