When I'm testing a print there is always wastage, and I really hate wasting paper. So what better way to use up these prints than making some lovely hand stitched notebooks with them. All the designs are based on flowers I like or leaves I have collected on my walks in nature.
The Ginkgo leaf pattern was created from some sketches I made after collecting some leaves at the Homestead Park in York. They are instantly recognisable by their fan shapes leaves, and can be found in China, Europe and North America. Ginkgos are known as living fossils as they can be traced back to fossils from the early Jurassic period. That's 270 million years ago!
The Acer leaf pattern is based on a tree from my own garden. It's quite small at the moment, but hopefully it will grow in to a stunningly beautiful addition to our garden.
The Hydrangea is one of my favourite flowers and I had purple ones in my wedding bouquet, so they have a special place in my heart.
