Boxing hares original wall art.
Multimedia original art work of two fabulously decorated 'Mad March hares'. The hares are made from English pewter and are decorated with images referencing the many folk tales and legends that abound around hares.
THIS WORK IS NOW SOLD -If you would like me to make something similar please contact me. I am happy to make something similar for you.
One such story tells of how the Goddess Eostre found a bird with damaged wings, she rescued the poor creature by turning it in to a hare. The hare retained the ability to lay eggs and returned to the Goddess every spring bringing her a gift of beautifully decorated eggs in thanks for saving her life.
If you look closely at the hares you will see the 'Easter eggs' and the little swallow depicted in the metal.
The background is richly layered and textured using shades ranging from yellow and green through to turquoise and fully saturated blues............ all colours that I associate with the sky after sunset and just before dawn..........colours that enrich my soul.
In the foreground are magical moon flowers that grow in my dreams and find their way in to my work when I wake, some are painted, and some are made from pewter.
