Full description

Captivating depiction of a couples initials bound together with sinuous Art Noveau foliage.

A unique personalised gift for the wedding couple.

This artwork is repousse pewter and the initials E and T were commissioned by the brides parents to commemorate the wedding of their daughter.

I will work with you to create a beautiful artwork for your son or daughter, sibling or best friend, to make a personalized gift that will surprise and delight the happy couple.

Once you purchase the listing I will discuss what you would like to include, if you wish I can show you some previous designs and then I will put together a sketch for you. At this stage we can make some minor adjustments and when I have your approval I will go ahead and complete the project in pewter.

English pewter is a really beautiful metal, it has a lustrous silver sheen which I carefully treat and patinate to bring out the three dimensional qualities of the (raised) repouss metal work before hand polishing.

Whilst antique pewter has a lead content, modern pewter does not and so does not tarnish.

Repouss or repoussage is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create a design in low relief.

As each piece is unique the size varies a little but the area of detailed work is approx 12 inches by 8.5 inches.

Just to give you an idea, I typically frame something like this in a 24 x 18 inch frame when I am selling at a show.
