I painted this from memory. It is based on a holiday exploring Italian gardens. I remember meandering down avenues of Cypress trees as the sun was setting, causing long shadows across my path. Also the joy of sitting and basking in the delicate light and warmth of the sun - a rarity in the North of England where I live the rest of the time!
