In these difficult times, I continue to work from home. I am only selling items which can be posted via the Post Box which is just outside my gate. I have a stock of stamps and packaging materials and, therefore, can stay open for business without imposing extra risk on other individuals. As usual, accessories featuring original embroidery, in association with felting, hand dyeing and fabric painting may be found in my other Folksy shop - 'Lynwoodcrafts'.
A pretty summer scene of foxgloves, daisies, grazing sheep and a distant cottage has been appliqued and embroidered, and then framed with patchwork, in recycled blue and white fabrics. The plaque has then been quilted to give a lovely texture and depth.
Scraps of fabric, some recycled others tiny fragments from other projects, have been hand appliqued, onto a pale blue background, using the needle turned method in which raw edges are hidden underneath the appliqued pieces. Simple embroidery stitches in cotton threads add the details of this whimsical design.
A hanging loop has been made from button hole stitch in white cotton. The back of the hanging has been finished with a panel of fabric.
Maximum width (point to point) - 14.5 cm approx
Please note: Easel not included.
I have been making patchwork coasters and realised the pattern I was stitching looked like a frame - so I added a tiny embroidered picture into this one.
