The gorgeous Arlen and Harburg song has never lost its appeal and seems even more significant at the moment.
I love hearing it, singing it or playing it and it was a natural progression to stitch my interpretation of it.
This textile art piece has been created using free motion embroidery and applique techniques. I have used a cream calico base and added lovely bright rainbow colours in cotton fabrics for the rainbow, the sun and the little bluebird. I added texture with the curly free hand stitching and picked out the words in black thread.
This little picture evokes childhood memories, dreams, carefree days and wishes coming true and would make a perfect gift for just about anyone to let them know you are thinking about them.
The picture unframed, but is mounted in an off white mount and will be sent packaged in a polythene cover.
It measures 28cm x 36cm.
