I am inspired by the simple moccasin, which is both functional and a healthy alternative to synthetic or rigid footware.
There is something particularly satisfying about making these moccasins from just three pieces of suede; it is amazing how a three dimensional shoe emerges from the two dimensional material as I stitch.
For a 'fitted' pair, the process starts with you drawing around each of your feet and finishes with a pair of moccasins that will fit you like your favourite socks and enable your feet to spread out and move naturally.
I'm using a robust English suede and beautifully soft doe skin. I'm experimenting with different colours and vegetable tanned leather.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
Hand stitched moccasins made from English suede either to your shoe size or custom made to fit each of your feet!
The uppers can be specified in either light tan, red or blue and the laces and stitches can be chosen to create a unique and individual design.
The sole is integral to the design, it can be repaired or replaced to extend the life of the shoe. In their 'naked' form, the suede enables your feet to breathe and to feel the earth with each step.
I can apply several layers of reworked tyre rubber to add grip and water resistance. The moccs remain soft, flexible and satisfying.
