Welcome to Rudy & the Rowan Tree - home to my experiments in wood, pattern and colour.
Handcrafted and made (very) slow in Scotland.
During the current health crisis, and while the UK is on lockdown, I am constantly looking for things to keep my hands, brain and creativity occupied in an attempt to use the time wisely and avoid becoming too focused on the negative aspects of situation! The lockdown also made me consider what I could use which I already had to hand (wood offcuts, picture hanging eyelets, unused lengths of chain and findings from other projects) speeding up the process and avoiding waste.

Full description
This one of a kind chunky wooden necklace has been screenprinted in layers of pink, sage, turquoise and white. It comes attached to a 20 inch 'antique bronze' coloured chain, which is long enough to pop straight over your head but it also has a clasp (length can be altered, just message me). All my work is printed by hand to create a unique layering of pattern and colour, and no two necklaces are the same.
The wood is salvaged pine which I have cut by hand and sanded; the naked sides have been treated with a thin protective layer of varnish. The printed side has a matt finish.
The wooden part measures approx 5.3cm long, 1.5cm and 1.5cm deep.
