This is a cowl I had designed for myself, as I wanted to incorporate the fabulous Wensleydale Locks as a trim. I decided to write up the pattern, so others can share this wonderful design.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Full description

This is a pattern for the Wensleydale Cowl I have designed for you to knit.

The cowl measures 11.5” deep (knitted section), with a neck circumference of 18”, and a hem circumference of 38”. It uses 1 x 100g balls of handspun yarn. Any equivalent yarn of 12-13 w.p.i, 163m (178yards) per 100g is fine to use. 4mm needles are needed to knit this cowl. Approximately 70g of Longwool Locks are required for the trim. The finished garment weight is 170g approximately.

My pattern is written so it is very easy to understand. It is ideal for an intermediate knitter or a beginner who has knitted a few items, and knows how to cast on, knit in the round, increase, and cast off. Full instructions with photos are given.

There are no postage costs - the pattern will be emailed as a pdf file within 3 days of payment being received, to the email address registered with Folksy unless you let me know otherwise. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this pdf file. (It is free to download from www.adobe.com)

I aim to write my patterns correctly, however, should you spot an error please let me know!

Please note this is just a knitting pattern and not the finished item.

This pattern is sold for personal use only and may not be sold or distributed without author’s permission.
