I was inspired by the MacKenzie-Childs homeware patterns, with their bright designs and chequerboard motifs to create this eye-catching hat. This hat pattern is a variation on my previous hat design, incorporating circles and bobbles.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Full description

I have based this hat design on stranded colour-work knitting, incorporating circles and bobbles. It can be knit in 3 sizes, from 19" to 24.5", and is knit mostly in the round. The hat is knit in DK weight premium acrylic yarn and has a roll up brim, 2 colour rib, garter ridges and fair isle panels. There are decorative French knots and a knitted ball to complete the hat.

The hat is a great project to use up small amounts of left over yarn.

Materials required are a 3.75mm circular needle, a set of small needles for the ball, and small quantities of DK yarn in various colours.

My pattern is written so it is very easy to understand. It is ideal for an intermediate knitter or a beginner who has knitted a few items, and knows how to cast on, knit, knit in the round, decrease and follow a simple colour chart.

There are no postage costs - the pattern will be emailed as a pdf file within 3 days of payment being received, to the email address registered with Folksy unless you let me know otherwise. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this pdf file. (It is free to download from www.adobe.com)

Please remember to check your junk mail box in case the emailed pattern arrives there.

I aim to write my patterns correctly, however, should you spot an error please let me know!

Please note this is just a knitting pattern and not the finished item.

This pattern is sold for personal use only and may not be sold or distributed without author’s permission.
