The symbol chart for the shawl surfaced in 2012. In 2013, someone wrote it up in text and called it Dreieckstuch which means triangle cloth in German. In 2015, it appears that someone else decided that the shawl was going viral so they named it Virus Shawl (virus tuch) at that time. It’s been known as the virus shawl ever since.

Hand crocheted ladies blue, green, cream and pink shawl - wrap - virus shawl
This gorgeous ladies shawl has been made using Scheepjes Swirl yarn which is a beautiful gradient yarn. The colourway i have used here is called 'Sherbert Rainbow' - even got a pretty name hasn't it? For this virus shawl, I chose to start with the blue which slowly graduates into green, then into cream then into a beautiful antique rose pink. The yarn is 60% cotton and 40% acrylic which gives this shawl a beautiful drape.
This ladies shawl would be perfect for wearing to a wedding, a prom, or just for a bit of additional warmth on summer evenings.
Measures approximately 85.5 inches/ 217 cm across the long straight side (across the shoulders as worn) and 36 inches/ 91.5 cm from back of neck to point at centre back.
