I have been making bees for a few years and found a pattern for a beehive so thought I’d have a go. Only problem was I then had to make some diddy bees to go with the hive.
Each piece of glass has been hand cut, ground, foiled and soldered before being washed and polished. The stripes on the bees have been made with glass paint and the eyes blackened with patina. Two rings and a length of line has been attached for hanging purposes.
The glass used for this suncatcher is; hive made from amber florentine and wissmach glass and the bee from yellow rolled glass with irridised textured clear for the wing. The stripes have been made with glass paint and the eyes/antenna from patina to blacken the solder.
This would make a great gift for any garden lover, bee keeper or just for someone special.
