I love to cook, but never had anything to hand to protect my surfaces from hot casseroles and dishes. I designed my Trivets to protect surfaces in a practical and decorative way. Friends really liked them so I started making more. Now I have a large range of different shapes! Please take a look at my facebook page for the full range: https://www.facebook.com/Matthewswoodworks/
I also make bespoke pieces. Please contact me for more information and prices

Cow Trivet, designed and handmade from Sapele (dark coloured hardwood of the Mahogany family) and Tulipwood (Light coloured hardwood of the Poplar family) Jute Cord and Flax Twine.
To use your Trivet: For one dish, keep your Trivet closed then place the hot dish onto the Trivet: For more than one dish spread the Trivet segments out along the Jute Cord, however you like, then place the hot dishes on the extended Trivet. When extended the Trivet is the perfect length for a standard dining table. When not in use it looks great standing up or laid down on any surface.
Dimensions when closed: 385 x 225 x 23mm (approx)
Please note that the images are representative because each piece is hand made and no two pieces of timber are the same!
