Hello and welcome to my Folksy shop! I've been making for others since 2013 and if you'd like to see what my customers have said about my work since then (before I opened up here on Folksy), you can read more than 1,000 reviews on my web site: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/ (click 'Reviews' on the bar at the top of the page).
In addition to the UK, I'm happy to ship most items to the US, Canada, Japan and Australia - just message me for a shipping quotation if a shipping price isn't shown against an item you're interested in. Please note that all US shipping prices shown DO NOT include tracking. If you'd like your package sent with tracking, please message me for a quotation.
Many of the pieces I make are made to order and the shipping time is a 'worse case scenario' estimate - I will often make and send items quicker than indicated, although things do sometimes slow down at busy times. If you want something urgently, just message me and I'll confirm if I can meet your deadline. Some items over £30 are posted via the 'Tracked 24' Royal Mail service automatically, but if you'd like to make sure you have this on your order, just message me.
I'm more active on Instagram than anywhere else: https://www.instagram.com/the_crimson_rabbit/ but you can always find me online elsewhere: my blog is here: www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk, my facebook page here: www.facebook.com/thecrimsonrabbitpage and my Pinterest addiction is evidenced here: http://www.pinterest.com/crimsonrabbit/

This shawl pattern is one that I've knit many times and it felt perfect for this yarn in the 'Chesil Beach' colour because the stitch pattern in the lace sections kind of reminds me of fishing nets!
Postage is for 'signed for' service or 'tracked' for international shipping. Please note that I do automatically refund postal cost overages for international items.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This crescent shaped shawl has been knit in a garter stitch, which has alternating bands of pretty open lacework and regular garter knit stitches. I've then wet blocked the shawl to really open up the stitches and emphasise the lace.
The yarn I've used for the shawl is a gorgeously drapey and soft superwash merino and silk single ply yarn in a fine gauge. The colour of the yarn is called 'Chesil Beach', a subtle blend of pale greens, blues and pebble browns, which was hand dyed by an artisan dyer, based in Berkshire, England.
The 'wingspan' of the shawl is 59 inches (15 cm) from tip to tip and it is 17.5 inches (45 cm) deep, at the widest point. It's the perfect size to wear over the shoulders as a shawl, but looks equally lovely worn as a light and airy scarf.
The shipping costs shown for this item include the 'signed for' service in the UK and a tracked service for International orders.
