The traditional welsh costume was worn in Wales, and still is worn on St David’s day which is March the 1st.
Every year all schools participate in a st David’s day concert and the children and adults wear the costume. It’s mainly made of wool fabric and each lady wears a daffodil . The boys and men wear a male version and wear a leek .

Welsh Lady appliquéd cushion using some traditional materials.
Each is cut and drawn by hand and applied to the fabric to build a picture of a this beautiful welsh lady.
My inspiration was of the cockle pickers in a village called Penclawdd down in the beautiful Gower are of west West Wales.
Free hand embroidery is the technique used.
Not every piece will be the same fabric as the pictures due to availability but there will always be elements of traditional welsh blanket.
The main fabric is a grey fabric from Laura Ashley
Can be washed preferably hand washed though
Size approx 17x17 inches
Cushion pad will be 20x20 inches for extra firmness
