Full description

This listing is for a pair of fused glass rainbow earrings on sterling silver ear hooks. Both the glass and sterling silver hooks have been made by myself. These are slightly tapered toward the top of the glass with a wider red bottom. They are super light and the length from the top of the sterling silver hook to the bottom of the glass is 4cm.

These earrings are one of a kind as I combine blocks of colour glass together to create my own colour combinations and patterns through a series of three or more kiln firings and cold working techniques. I am mostly taking away glass to reveal different effects, textures, the shape and to ensure they are lightweight in the ear.

Kiln forming is a process where glass is layered and heated in a kiln to a temperature where the glass melts and the layers fuse together. All my glass is digitally annealed and cooled for strength and safety in my studio in Bristol. 2019© Robyn Coetzee Glass
