This No14:2 design came about after feedback from various makers who prefer a more 'secure-fit' apron, but still needed ease of movement for their legs. The solution was a tie waistband and neck ties with a generously pleated skirt, later a split leg feature was added to the design. It has been a really popular design partly I think because it is such an attractive as well as functional style.
Working in my studio in hilly-leafy South-East London, I make aprons in small batches using cotton canvas, denim or drill - fabrics that are natural, washable and durable. Careful attention to detail, strength of construction and beautiful stitching result in a quality of finish simply not possible in mass production. I cut fabric economically, minimising waste and saving the small remnants to make one-of-a-kind bags for my ‘Boro Collection’.

Potters apron with split leg pleated skirt and pockets, made with traditional cotton ticking cloth. Flattering and attractive, yet still superbly functional this apron is carefully designed for potters and artists - the pleated skirt and front overlapping split allows plenty of movement whilst ensuring each leg is perfectly covered when sitting at the wheel or work bench. Keep tools handy in the bib pocket and two skirt pockets at the back. Traditional ticking stripe cotton fabric is a medium-weight soft weave, with a lovely drape, more lightweight than my other aprons. Thoughtfully designed, skilfully sewn, made-to-last, this apron is highly specialised craftsperson's workwear.
