Peter and Jane Ladybird books were a huge part of my childhood and were used to teach children to read during the 1960s. The illustrations are in vibrant primary colours and show Peter and Jane enjoying a summer's day - swimming and playing with their dog. The beautiful images show scenes of a childhood and lifestyle mostly forgotten.
The bunting is shown hanging with another Ladybook length - 'Smoke and Fluff' (in pink).

A long length of paper bunting made from a vintage Pater and Jane book - 'We Have Fun'.
There are 24 triangular flags measuring 10cm x 17cm hung 2cm apart giving a total length of 360cm (includes 30cm each end for tying). Each page is cut from a single page with the image on the face and writing on the reverse.
The flags are edged with a line of bright blue machine stitching, giving strength and definition to the paper, and this is matched with a blue cotton binding.
A perfect gift for a traditional book enthusiast or to enhance a vintage interior display.
