I have been fascinated by dolphins ever since seeing Flipper on TV many years ago. They are highly intelligent, and for centuries have been know to help swimmers and guide ships. They appear to be full of joy as they leap and play, and they always seem to be smiling. I have a small collection of them lurking among the orchids on my bathroom windowsill.
When I spotted these blanks on Amazon, I felt I had to try to do them justice. Working out how to paint them took a while, but when I discovered Pebeo metalic silver paint, the problem was solved.

This large mobile is a reminder of the joy of watching dolphins bursting out of the water in those amazing smooth curves, with water showering from them in sunlit sparkles.
I found these beautiful dolphin MDF blanks when searching for something else on the web, and immediately imagined them painted and hung to leap and play around each other.
I have used metallic silver acrylic paint as a base colour, mixed with a touch of black to give their grey backs. As a result hey shimmer and change colour from grey to silver depending on how light falls on them.
They are each hung slightly differently. Some are leaping up, others are heading back down. They move around in the lightest of air movements, and would look thoroughly at home in a bathroom, or any room with a sea theme, or a sea view
