I've always loved little tiny things, little cottages, small boxes!
I made this tiny cottage to satisfy all of those. I'm not quite sure how the idea arrived in my head to make little cottages, but I knew I wanted to make them open into a little box. I made several attempts before I had the idea to strengthen the walls with pieces of card, which made the whole thing better.
I know they're not big enough to hold much but maybe a special item of jewellery, a rare coin, or a private note...

Full description
A little tiny box shaped like a cottage - the roof lifts up revealing the (bijou!) space inside.
There is some wisteria flowering around the door and window, represented by hand stitched embroidery and tiny beads, and the felt door has a bead door handle.The walls, floor and roof have been strengthened with pieces of card between the layers of felt, all hand stitched together.
Wisteria cottage measures nearly 5cms to the roof ridge and the base is about 3x5.5cms. The base of the interior is about 2x4.5cms, so whatever treasure is kept inside will need to be tiny. I told you it is bijou!
This cottage is NOT a toy, but a colourful, cute and quirky gift for someone who likes pretty and small handmade things.
