The cube has been a feature of my work for many many years. This particular cube is part of a set of 5 different shapes that I've been working on, that were initially inspired by the Platonic Solids. The cube shape developed into a small house with openings, possibly from a fascination with lamp lit windows by night, but also the iconic shape of light that emanates from an open door.
Since making the Cube House, other little aluminium rooms and buildings have developed.

Full description
Cube House is a light sculpture / lantern in the form of a Cube. Hand made from aluminium, with cutouts to represent a door, a window and a chimney. A candle shaped cutout on the back can be used to slide a tea light into the centre. Light this candle with the match wand provided, to produce light from the window and the open door. Give life to the little house.
As an alternative source of illumination an LED is included. It's small hook can be used to suspend the light within the cube, from the chimney square.
The last photo, shows all 5 Open Platonics and their relative size. The cube is 60mm and all the Platonic Solids are the same volume.
