Based on the stunning coast of South East Cornwall, I take inspiration from my surroundings and occasionally further afield.
Using my own illustrations, designs are hand-printed using lino cut methods onto linen and cotton.
Occasionally you might see a piece of fabric that's caught my eye, made into something lovely!
I have a passion for the sea!
Whilst living near to Falmouth and other local ports, I became familiar with the Cornish Lugger.
These beautiful wooden sailing ships, traditionally used for fishing, are so graceful when under sail. Many still exist around the coast of Cornwall but vessel featured was one that I saw regularly. One day I was lucky enough to watch her sail around Falmouth bay in a calm, still summers day and I felt I was in a Daphne du Maurier book!
It was the first thing that I drew and set me on my journey to becoming an illustrator and print maker.
The Lugger will always be in my work...
