I've always been interested in sculpture and 3D geometry, using many similar forms within my work.
This particular shape was inspired by a Dodecahedron, one of the five Platonic Solids that were discovered by the early Pythagoreans, circa 450BC.

Full description
This Open Dodecahedron, a 12 sided sculptural object with a candle at its centre. This tea-light candle, partly hidden from view creates animated beams of light on nearby surfaces. Ideal for adding a warm glow to your dining table. The underside of the object is covered in baize or silicone to protect surfaces.
No.4 of a range of five sculptural candle holders, based on the Platonic Solids.
The last photo, shows all 5 Open Platonics and their relative size. The cube is 60mm and all the Platonic Solids are the same volume.
