Hedgehogs are such interesting creatures, and an occasional but welcome visitor to our garden.
This is my little homage to the nature all around us.

Full description
A detailed study of a hedgehog peeping out from some autumn leaves.
I used a style the I call "drawing with threads" to make this little hedgehog picture. The image is built up using strands of embroidery thread and stitches of varying lengths and colours. It's time consuming but it does allow lots of detail.
The finished piece is protected behind glass in an oak frame, ready for hanging. The stitched piece is about 35x35 mm and the frame is approx 10x10 cms. It was photographed with the glass in place, as you can see from a bit of reflection, but the light was natural to try to show the colours accurately.
It would make a lovely gift for a gardener, or an admirer of hedgehogs and their curious habits!
