Item details

Hand crafted, no power tools, traditional glues and wooden dowels and wrapped with Hessian cord. LED lights with a working lifetime of at least 25,000 hours and low voltage. Just plug it into a USB outlet, a phone charger or USB power bank.

This is a one of a kind item, made by me in my little workshop and has many hours of careful work in it.

The natural cord and the wood both come from sustainable sources.

This lamp was assembled over several days, the wood was brought to life with the traditional Japanese technique of Shou sugi ban before being protected with three coats of water based varnish.

I love wood and enjoy expressing ideas in it and this was a tricky idea to express. I wanted to make something that was a little more unusual than my other lamps and I think this hit the mark.
The texture of the cord perfect contrasts the wood and once lit, the lamp comes to life in a different way.
