Item details

The wood I made this lamp with had stood in my wood store for so long I don't remember where it came from, I just know it cleaned up fabulously once I had sanded it. It is a very dense and solid wood which makes this a sturdy piece of furniture. I used the traditional Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban to colour the wood and bring out its grain then sealed it with three coats of water based varnish.

I wanted to make something very unusual, like nothing I had made before and I think this lamp hits that mark. The nails are Cut Clasp and made from mild steel, polished to give a good shine.

The deep burgundy antique look cable is approximately 180cm long, has a black torpedo switch with a power indicator and standard UK plug in black.

The Edison fitting means you can choose from a selection of vintage style bulbs or modern LED alternatives.

This is a one of a kind, not to be seen again, lamp of distinction.

45cm tall, 25cm wide, 10cm deep
