Spring is here, cast off your scarf and replace it with a colourful pendant! That hat can go too - show off your ears with a lovely pair of earrings!

Inspired by one of my favourite shapes and a trip to the dramatic Jurassic coast of Dorset, this is a unique piece of statement jewellery guaranteed to draw the eye. The ammonite is honoured everywhere in that area, from giant examples in the museums to the street lighting in Lyme Regis (pictured) where we enjoyed the last of the sun on our autumn cycling trip. The curvy ammonite shape has been hand-cut from a piece of recycled copper, and the edges rounded, a long and arduous process with many a snapped blade and lots of power and hand sanding! After giving the back two layers of counter enamel, I gave the front a layer of blue black followed by two layers of graduated red and orange. I added a layer of teal enamel and removed some of the dry powder to leave a swirly, ammonite design before a final firing – a whopping 6 coats of enamel in total! The result is an entirely unique piece with plenty of interest and depth, resembling a slice of ammonite (albeit in fantasy colours!) poli

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Additional terms

Items will be sent by second class Royal Mail (large letter), well packaged and complete with an organza pouch. Please note that, in the event of you returning an item, the return postage will be payable by you unless the item is proven to be faulty, otherwise only the cost of the item will be refunded. The item you see here is the one you will receive so, if you are unsure of size etc, please check before ordering. Please note that enamelled items are made of glass and so, although relatively sturdy and robust, they may still break or crack if dropped onto a hard surface. Earrings cannot be returned, for reasons of hygiene, unless they are proven to be faulty. Although the enamels used are lead-free, the pieces should be kept away from small children because of the copper content and the small parts.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Read the Folksy Returns Policy.

Full description

Large, hand-cut, ammonite-shaped pendant with rounded edges on recycled copper, enamelled in red, orange and teal. The pendant has been kiln-fired and measures approximately 47mm from top to bottom, and 40mm across the widest part. To complete the piece aesthetically and for a smooth finish against the skin, the back has been given two coats of dark blue tweed-effect enamel. It comes complete with a soldered sterling silver jump ring (6mm) and is supplied with a little organza pouch. An 18” sterling silver rope chain, or a 2mm leather cord (selection of lengths) finished with a magnetic clasp, can be purchased separately from my shop if needed – please see separate listings. If you are using your own chain, please ensure that it will fit through the 6mm jump ring, allowing for the thickness of the pendant.
