The movement is set in a Zebrano body with the dark coloured wenge markers, this is on an upright made from cherry and zebrano, giving further contrasting texture and colours, all set off on an English ash base plate with beech dowelled feet.
This clock was a challenge to build and to get the desired effect, a piece of free styling with woods at my bench and the use of my favourite spokeshave to form the curve of the support. This is a one off clock and I don’t expect to build another like it, due to the way it was created, no previous design for this one just my inspiration on the day.
The skeleton clock movement is Chinese in manufacture its silver with black hands with roman numerals, and requires an AAA battery.
The dimensions are 310mm high x 215mm wide x 75mm deep, it weighs 0.83kgs ( 1lb 14ozs)
This clock is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
