Sterling silver needle necklace.
Handmade in my studio in York and beautifully hallmarked in deep lazer at The Sheffield Assay Office.
I very mindfully over time hand forged the perfect needle in sterling silver and had my finished design cast into sterling silver, and 9ct gold (please get in touch if you'd be interested to see this).
Once filed and neatened I emery up the needle in stages before soldering a handmade jump ring to the end. I then give it all a high polish and using my pendant drill satinise the body of the needle. I totally love this finish.
I hang the needle from a luxurious curb chain which is perfect as its appearance reflects a thread like effect. Together, with the added bonus of gorgeous hallmarking, I think the satin finish of the needles body and the curb chain create such a lovely contemporary feel.
I love this necklace so much and I am so happy with the result. I hope you like it too. It is a perfect gift for a seamstress, quilter, embroiderer...
