I save all the fabric off cuts from my other projects and join them together to make patchwork, sometimes in squares and sometimes more random like this quilt. Lengthy work, but very satisfying!

Full description

This is a bed runner made from many small pieces of cotton and poly/cotton fabrics left over from other projects and put to good use instead of being thrown away. Warm, cosy, bright and colourful.

Once I had stitched all the pieces together to make the patchwork fabric, I backed it with a beautiful roses print cotton and in between I put a layer of fleecy fabric. Then I sewed rows of wavy stitching diagonally all over to achieve a slightly quilted effect. I bound the edges with the roses fabric and the mitred corners are hand finished.

Measures 156cm x 64cm, shown in the picture on a double bed.

Please note that the backing fabric, which was an end of roll, has a flaw in the printing. I have shown this close up in the third photo, where I think it looks worse than actually does on the real thing. I didn't even notice it myself until I came to do the top stiching.

All the fabrics used were laundered beforehand to minimise any future shrinkage and I would recommend cool hand wash and natural drying.

This item is one of a kind and is ready to ship. I usually send out next day using second class postal service in order to keep shipping costs as low as possible, so if you would prefer first class, please get in touch. I use recycled packaging where I can. I'll combine postage on multiple purchases if possible, so please see my other items and excellent reviews.
