Full description
A spectacles case featuring a pretty felted and embroidered field of poppies. This glasses case has been entirely hand-stitched.
The front of this glasses case has been made from 'eco' felt - produced from recycled plastic bottles. Using hand-dyed wool, a meadow design and blue sky have been felted to the background using an embellisher machine. The sky and meadow areas have been 'stabilised' by simple hand stitching in fine threads. Snippets of red yarn, and small tufts of red, hand-dyed fibres, have been felted in place to represent poppies - their centres being stitched in black thread. Further poppies have been stitched in red wool. Daisies have been added in simple embroidery stitches.
The case is lined in a blue and white floral fabric and inter-lined with interfacing. The reverse of the cover is a blue and white striped canvas fabric. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in crochet cottons for durability, blue and green used for different parts of the design in order to tone. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a grey button.
