The original image was an acrylic painting made using only black and white paint. It was one of several painted as an exercise in improvised painting as part of a workshop. The paper was poor quality but I liked the outcome so I scanned it in, initially with the aim of producing prints of the monochrome image.
Then, again as an exercise I started playing with the digital file, adding colour and modifying it in other ways using a variety of software packages and came up with the image in this listing. I think this version is actually an improvement on the original grey scale version with a sense of depth lacking in the original painting.

Full description
Forest Clearing is a digital print derived from an acrylic painting. It is not a straight reproduction because the original painting is grey scale. The version here has been digitally edited in the computer using several different software tools. I have used the added colour to create greater depth to the image than the grey scale version had.
It is available in a limited edition print of 50 prints in two sizes. Each print will be signed and numbered by me. Also included is a statement describing the image and its genesis, the process and details of the edition.
Large size (345mm x 248mm - approx 13.5" x 9.8") Only 15 will be available at this size (Numbers 1-15 in the edition of which 14 are currently available)
Small size (35 will be available available at this size (Numbers 16-50 in the edition of which 35 are currently available)
The print will be made on slightly textured art paper 275gsm. The quoted dimensions are approximate and refer to the size of the image not the paper sheet on which it is printed. All prints will have a border of about 25mm to allow for framing. The mount and frame shown are for illustration only and are not incl;uded in the price.
Although this is a limited edition I reserve the right to use the image in further versions in other distinctive colours or in other media, or to use the image in other formats such as apparel or homeware.
