Green is my favourite colour so I really love working with it. It makes me think of apples, spring and fresh grass. Rolling hills and fields with hedgerows, birds and wildlife. Flying back to the UK after visiting Africa always amazes me as the contrast between the two landscapes is so different yet both just as beautiful and alluring.

Full description

This listing is for a pair of pretty green glass earrings on sterling silver ear hooks. Both the glass and sterling silver hooks have been made by myself.

These pretty little dangles are a lovely mix of jade green and spring green, overlaying a bit of the silver dichroic which catches the light beautifully. True flashes of delight. Very hard to capture how pretty these actually are.

The drop from the top of the sterling silver hook to the bottom of the glass is just under 3cm and they come in a presentation box with my logo on the lid.

These earrings are one of a kind as I combine blocks of colour glass together to create my own colour combinations and patterns through a series of two or more kiln firings and cold working techniques. I am mostly taking away glass to reveal different effects, textures, the shape and to ensure they are lightweight in the ear.

Kiln forming is a process where glass is layered and heated in a kiln to a temperature where the glass melts and fuses together. All my glass is digitally annealed and cooled for strength and safety in my studio in Bristol. 2019© Robyn Coetzee Glass
