Vintage Sailor Girl Brooch - Dottie Dollie
With a silver border, the sailor girl has light brown hair, blue eyes, and a blue trimmed sailor collar. The background has a pearlescent sheen, and the brooch has been shaded to have a slightly "aged" look.
The brooch is approximtaely 75mm tall, and 45mm wide. A 25mm roll over security pin is attached by strong epoxy glue. This brooch was carefully hand-painted with acrylic paint and soft pastels, several coats of ceramic sealer have been applied to protect the painted finish.
This brooch is a recreation of a porcelain brooch that I made for my Mum in 1995. I wanted to see if I could recapture the look of porcelain in resin. This is the result.
Due to the nature of handmade items no two are exactly the same, making each brooch an individual, as you can see from the last photo!
My brooches don't like to go swimming, and should be protected from heavy showers of rain.
