Part 2 of the a fine art print of an original illustration based on The Great Wave off Kanagawa Japanese woodblock print by ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai.

Based on the original Hokusai woodblock print and uchi's ‘Soundwave off Kanagawa‘ art print this mimics the original format more closely keeping the new drama to just the boat and its passengers.
In the traditional ukiyo-e prints there is usually something going on, whether mundane or dramatic and so I wanted to change the story of the original. The people in the boat are based on figures depicted in the ukiyo-e print “Tea house at Koishikawa. The morning after a snowfall” I like the idea of the water waves and sound waves affecting each other and the boat, tethered to the headphones, being tossed around by the sound/waves.
