Piercing with a saw is one of those skills all Silversmiths must learn. Having done some practice I wanted to produce a piece using that skill to show off the magnificent Fire opal set at the centre of this piece. Being a ‘fire’ opal, a ‘flame seemed the obvious choice on which to set it.

Full description
The Mexican Fire Opal Sterling Silver Flame has a Genuine Mexican Fire Opal claw set in its centre around a hand pierced silver flame. Movement is created by a loose silver Bail hanging from a Sterling Silver Chain. The reverse of the piece bears the Hallmark for Sterling Silver from the Sheffield Assay Office.
