An unusual double-marquise pendant in Sterling Silver and 24ct Gold-plated Sterling with a custom twisted bail. The Seahorse, with a Red CZ eye is in Fine SIlver, embedded in resin with Blue Crushed Oyster Shell, with the lower marquise set with a Blue Topaz in Black Oyster Shell. Suspended on a 'Popcorn' Sterling chain, the piece is hallmarked on the left outer bezel (as worn). Height 75mm Width 20mm.

This unusual Stunning Pendant Necklace is formed in a Double Marquise shaped Sterling Silver Bezel. The bottom marquise is Plated with 24ct Gold, and the top is finished with a handmade twisted wire Bail. The Seahorse feature is embedded in Jeweller’ grade resin and made in Fine Silver (99%), has a Red Cubic Zirconia Set as the Seahorse’s Eye, and lies on Blue Crushed Seashell. The lower marquise features a tube set London Topaz within a Black Sea Shell base set in resin.

The piece is hung from a ‘Popcorn’ Sterling Silver Chain. It is Hallmarked with the Sheffield Assay Office hallmarks on the outer edge of the lower Bezel. ‘The Seahorse’ is striking statement necklace guaranteed to command attention. It is a one-off piece from Kelandy Designs. The pendant is 75mm tall and 20mm at the widest point.

The Sea is always an inspiring sight and the multiplicity of life within it provides unending inspiration from which to design. We’ve all seen a lovely blue sea so the blue shell was an obvious choice, but as the sea gets deeper it gets darker and the blackness of the abyss with a glint of the blue from above in the London Topaz is the ideal representation. I was working with crushed sea shell in some other pieces I was making, and while experimenting with fine silver in the form of silver clay, I fired a Seahorse which sat in a tray for some months. It was while designing the double marquise Bezel with the seashell that I remembered the Seahorse in Fine silver and decided to ‘add an eye’ as use it as the main feature of this unusual piece.
